help
« on: February 08, 2004, 10:11:22 AM »
I am not a new bowler by any means, but have just started experimenting with different balls to improve my game.  I need to find a ball that carries very straight down the lane and breaks about 20 board as hard as possible into the pocket.  I guess I am wondering what do all of the specs for the balls that I see online mean?  I see all of these terms like flare potential, just for example, and I can't seem to figure out what most of these terms mean and how they are measured.  Can someone post a listing of what the most common terms are, and what they represent?  Also the pin position and top weight numbers are very confusing too me also. Any help would be great.  P.S. I carry 15lbs Ebonite Jaguar, 16lbs AMF XS, and 16lbs Columbia Chaos.  I use the Jag mostly for spares and light oil, the XS for most of my light go medium bowling, and the chaos only for heavy oil.
