MB-- what does it do..
« on: May 15, 2009, 05:42:29 AM »
I know the MB is a secondary influence to fine tune the reaction.  I know the pin to PAP is the first influence on the reaction.  What exactly does the MB do for the "reaction".  Does it influence when the "reaction" happens... Does it influence how much of a "reaction" there is, or does it influence how quickly the "reaction" happens..

I know .. I used the word "reaction" too many times..

MB's primary influence is on back end reaction, angularity.  --  JohnP

pins control flare, mass bias controls the shape of reaction

Angle to val relates to response time off of friction.  The smaller the number, the quicker the ball will try to transition from skid to roll, the larger the number, the slower it is going to transition.

in it's most basic sense a mass bias is when one side of the ball is heavier than another.....this has been going on since holes were drilled into a bowling ball.
