I know this is a stupid question, but, I can't find any videos/information relating to this.  What do you use to find out distances when laying out a ball?  For example; when locating the the pin-to-PAP distance, what tool do you use to find/mark it?  I would think it would be just a regular compass; but, I don't think you would get an accurate measurement due to the curvature of the ball.  Any help would be appreciated!

The most common way is with a quarter scale.

That's funny...I actually just ordered one of these this morning!  
I don't see how to mark an arc with it, but, I may just have to what to receive it to see all the things it can do!

Since I started laying out balls using the dual-angle method my compass is gathering dust. Only need a quarter scale now.
