Give the Motion Hole a Try
« on: August 30, 2013, 09:45:00 PM »
Although somewhat skeptic, I layed out two balls with a motion hole. The first was a second drill Uranium Buzzsaw; the second a NIB Marvel Pearl.

The reaction on both balls is definitely different than anything else I have thrown. Really long up front, strong on the backend or dry with a lot of hit.  This definitely maximizes miss room on a THS. I do not know about a sport shot.
I have tried both balls for several weeks and have had only a few ten pin leaves.

With the Marvel Pearl, I finally have a ball that I can move in past 20 if complete confidence that it will recover and carry. Now I have to learn to trust it. In the mean time, I can ball down to the Uranium and enjoy the great hit and carry even after the lanes break down and the track begins to burn.

If you are wondering about trying the layout, I strongly suggest you give it a try, following the directions as close as possible. I do not think you will be disappointed in the results if you are looking for a longer and stronger ball reaction.

I see motion holes, and I drilled one before they called them that, as primarily a top hat phenomena.

The minimum a "MO"tion hole of 3/4 of an inch will add to top weight is 1.4 ounces of top weight.  Plus the nicking of the core.

The ball I did it to was not as good of a sport condition ball(playing a very confined area of play) after I put in it's "MO"tion hole.  I refilled it and recovered its former smooth reaction I used it for.

Enjoy on your blended top hat where you want more backend and a higher pocket entry for carry!

Or tuck your baby finger!

PS old fashioned 7 inch from grip center and 9 inch weightholes in a 3:30 direction(for righties) have similar reaction enhancing effects but not exactly the same effects.
