Help me learn from my mistake
« on: April 02, 2013, 11:08:03 PM »
I'm looking to drill a Defiant Edge, but I want to learn from my experience drilling my last ball which was a Critical Theory.  My benchmark ball is a Mutant Cell Pearl drilled 50 X 4.5 X 30, and I love the reaction.  I wanted the Critical to be a step above the Mutant Cell Pearl for oil handling, but it didn't work out so well.  The Critical was drilled 50 X 5 X 35.  The ball ended up being very rolly, and wanted to sit up too early.  I'm thinking the long pin to pap on an asymmetrical was the issue.

I would like the Defiant Edge to be a step up above the Mutant Cell.  What are some recommendations?  I'd prefer a pin up drilling because my low axis tilt can cause my ball to clip the thumb hole if I go pin down. I'll attached my stats below.

Thanks

Rev Rate: 250-275 rpm
Ball Speed 14-15 mph
axis tilt: 20 degrees/10.5" track circumference
PAP: 5" .5" up

20 degrees of axis tilt is not anywhere near low  ??? .

What is your initial angle of rotation?

If it is not anything to whacky I'd do 45 x 4 x 25 and fine tune with hole placement.
