My Bowling Style - Have some questions????
« on: March 16, 2011, 12:32:53 PM »
Well I finally gathered my bowling style information:

Speed = 15.62
RPMs = 270
Rev Count = 12
Rotation = 46
Tilt = 45

Is there a preferred layout for my style? Is there any layouts that are not so good?

Any suggestions for bowling balls? I am looking to purchase a ball (Last ball purchase was an Action Packed). Its  been awhile. I am trying to make a good purchase. Just a heads up. I have been going to the same pro shop over the years. What is discussed here...I will be talking with him.

I looking for ideas and suggestions. Just trying to explore all options.

Can you confirm your tilt?  45 would be a huge number.  10-20 degrees is more or less typical.

Other than that, you're not too different from me.  I have more axis rotation and a little more revs (and low tilt). but they should cancel each other out somewhat.  I haven't tried any short pins (2" or less from PAP), but otherwise, I've tried a little bit of everything as far as drilling's and equipment and have found good success with just about everything.  Low pin dull asymmetric Weapon of Mass Bias to very high pin flippy Silver Streak Pearl.

Some people may prefer only symmetric balls, or low pins, or ..., but I haven't found any sort of trend to find a great match up.

 Yes, you are correct with my tilt? I didn't calculate it correctly last night. My method of trying to calculate my track diameter was wrong. After watching my release again on video, it appears I have a low tilt. I am not sure how I can an accurate number, but I will figure something out.

My issue always seems to be as things break down and there is less oil. I find it difficult at times getting the ball to the pocket and it still having some pop on it. I recently redrilled one of my older balls  (Wicked). I moved the pin over my fingers. Its a little over 6" from my PAP. Obviously very close to my track. It seems to get down the lane a little better. I need to throw a few more games with it and see.
