Need advice

I'm looking to get some advice on a layout for the burgundy pure hammer.  The ball in question has a 1" pin and 4 1/4 on top.  I would like to be able to play straighter angles through the front part of the lane, and still have enough kick to combat a small amount of carrydown.  I would really prefer not to put a weight hole in it as my scale is being serviced and I need it for this weekend.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

With that low pin distance I guess the pin will end up under your fingers. What about pin under bridge and the CG in the palm? Should result in a very controllable, arcing reaction that will help you with carrydown? An x-hole should not be necessary.

I have an older, black one with a higehr pin distance, but the layout would be more or less the same. At 1.500 grit sheen surface, I can play the ball across 2nd arrow, having my right shoe tip at 21st board, and the ball will gradually curve in but hit with authority. Carrydown is no issue, in fact I take this one out when the lane is completely ridden down and pearl reactives go spasmic. Great ball!

that sounds feasible, however i would be nervous stacking the cg on the centerline.  I think my high ball speed would make that ball with that layout an expensive spare ball.

Are these still available?  Do they really have length?  Or are they pretty early and even?

punched it up last night 5x4 1/2 no hole.  I am very impressed so far as this ball is surprisingly strong in the backend even with carrydown, yet extremely smooth and readable.  This ball is really rolly.  It allows me to play straighter on the medium to dry yet still have plenty of pop on the backend and hits like a freight train.  Overall a nice piece that should play drier tournament shots well.  Luckylefty these have been on Ebay off and on now for about a month selling for around $40, well worth it if you ask me.
