pin axis
« on: October 19, 2006, 10:59:43 AM »
When considering a pin-axis drilling (pin on the PAP), what all should be considered? What lane conditions will this drilling match up to the best? What type of ball is best suited to this drilling (polished, dull, core type, etc)? Also, am I correct to assume that a longer pin distance would be preferred so as to end up with the CG near the grip center?

Thanks in advance for all replies.

The best pattern would be Short oil patterns, because you want something to hookstop when backends hook enough for you. im not sure what ball would be good for it so experiment or ask the your driller.

Pin axis is best for playing outside on drier backends. The ball won't hook/stop unless there is 0 - negative side weight. If positive side is used, with the ending CG on your PAP, the ball will go long and finish strong.

Static weights play a big part in the balls reaction with this layout.

You can use a pin in ball also. A hole will be needed roughly 9 - 10" from the center of your grip to achieve maximum length and maximum backend, if this is what you desire. =:^D

HOw is the ball going to be long and strong if the core is laying flat? im not justifying your answer im just asking a question.
