I don't know how much thought has been put into this but on my end I have given it some MAJOR thought.  When we drill equipment for customers how much do we worry about total pin out?  Obviously if you drilled a ball for a customer with a 5 inch span and you sell them a ball with a 2 inch pin, then you have to mess with it some to get the right layout.  So instead of having to mess with it at all shouldn't we at the start of the sale put them in a pin that is alittle longer to accomidate for the long span.  I mean it would be easier to put them in a 3-4 inch pin.  So how much difference could this possibly make in reaction??  I know that you can drill a 1 inch pin in ball for a person with a 5 inch span, but is that the right thing to do??  Just wanted to see what some of the guru's on here thought about this.
