Need drilling suggestions!
« on: June 16, 2004, 01:39:42 AM »
WEll, I have mentioned to several people on here about getting a new driller... With my new fit I am going to have to plug and redrill every ball. That sucks... but I can pick new layouts to fit my game and lane conditions better. I also redid my arsenal... Here is what I am planning on staying with.

Super Freak (320 grit)
Uranium (unsure just got)
Golden Nugget (unsure just got)
Cherry Bomb (box I think)
Savage Flip (box, maybe scruffed a little)

I really do not have a dry lane ball at the moment but its not a big deal. Most of my specs are in profile. I prefer strong drills, they seem to work better for me. I understand on lighter conditions weaker drills may be what is best so I would go with it.

Mostly, I am looking for drills to cover most conditions. All help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What are the current drill patterns on your equipment?

The Super Freak is drilled pin under ring and mass bias way right. Uranium isnt here yet so i am not sure. Goldne nugget is pin right of ring finger and cg under it. Cherry bomb has pin a little avoe and right of ring. Savage flip has pin right and below of ring. LMK if any more info is needed. Thanks. Kyle

Yeah, no kidding... Never thrown it like that. I had polished it b/c i never seen enough oil. The polish killed it so naturally I had it sanded it back. I wanted to try 600 grit. WEll, my local dirller, good guy just isnt the best driller, without asking me what i wanted, uses 320 grit on it. I think thats all he does to anyones ball. Either polishes it to kingdom come or sands it to resurface the lane like you said. I may try it like that... then when i have a chance talk to my new driller and get it to 600 grit or maybe even 1000.

I take it I am not going to get any suggestions?????
