I am getting back into the game and need recommendations for a Top Notch Driller/Fitter in Northern California. I live near Redding, California. I will drive anywhere in Northern California to get a new arsenal set up properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, I am new to this site, and really enjoy the informative posts and reviews.

Check out Lariat Bowl in Red Bluff. I have no experience with the shop there personally, but have heard a few people mention that it's good.

If you want to make the drive, you have a lot of options in my area. The area east of Sacramento has a couple of good pro shops, Fireside Bowl and AMF Rocklin are both good choices.

Or further south in Stockton, we have two excellent pro shops. One at Pacific Ave bowl and one in West Lane Bowl.

If you want to try the East Bay region of San Francisco, check out Pinole Valley(Pinole), or Delta Bowl in Antioch. Both are excellent choices.

It's too bad tenpinspro (Rick Leong) isn't around any more as he was really good in my book anyhow. I only met him one time when I was on vacation there to viit my son and his family in Tracy, but the fit he gave me on a ball he gave me was so perfect and the best I have ever had.

Rick is still located in Alameda and drilling out of his garage.  He still visits BR occasionally, but the best way to reach him is via phone.  PM me if you want his number.

I have to second Fireside in Sacramento, though I haven't bowled north of Yuba City, so I can't say much about anything that far north. But when Gary and Leanne Hulsenberg took upper level positions at Storm, they ran the pro shop at Fireside and left it in really good hands with Caleb Nakata. When not down in Vegas at K&K, or at the Stadium, I get all my gear done at Fireside.

Pacific Ave. Bowl in Stockton is also good; that's where I had a couple balls punched up from a Demo days roughly 10 years ago.

So if you're willing to make the drive, you have some really good options further south in NorCal.

Hi Happy Trigger. Just remember, do not squeeze it. You should like that Reign of Power a lot. If you have any issues, Give Caleb a call and he'll follow up with you.

Thanks Ken. It was a pleasure to meet you. I really enjoyed my ball fitting with Caleb Nakata (Steve Cook's Fireside Lanes) tonight. He did a great job and it was easy to put my trust in his recommendation for a ball (Reign of Power) to compliment the others I have just purchased. I'll be back soon to have Caleb drill up at least one more ball. As you know, I'll also take a couple of balls to Cecil Scarboro (Vise VP of New Product Development and PBA Member at Pacific Avenue Bowl) down in Stockton. I had Caleb install the Turbo Switch Grips. Of course, I'll have Cecil install the Vice Interchangeable Inserts.

Thanks for the recommendations folks. Also, thank you Jim AKA" j1kjvan" for hooking me up with Cecil. I am confident both Caleb and Cecil are going to get me properly set up with a fantastic new arsenal. I am absolutely blown away by the advancements in bowling balls today. But, it all starts with a Top Notch Driller/Fitter.

I live in Redding and have used a few drillers up here. Terry at Country Bowl in Redding has been around over 20 years and I've been very happy with everything he's done for me and the wife. Anthony at Throw it Pure is another who does a great job. Someone mentioned Lariat in Red Bluff, they don't have a pro shop but Anderson Bowl and Shasta Lanes do.
