Guys, I just drop all my current arsenal which contained about 10 balls. I would get ready to go to tournaments and be confused on which balls to take . So i got fed up and sold each and everyone of the balls I had, I drilled a spare ball and 4 STORM HOT WIRES.

1) 3.5 x 2.5 layout with 800 surface with 31/32 X-hole 3" below PAP pitched 1.25 away from grip center 3" deep
2) 4.25 x4.25 layout with 1000 surface
3) 5.25 x 3.5 layout with 1000 grit shine X-hole on PAP
4) 6 X 5 layout with 2000 grit shine

Guys let me know what you think of these layouts.

I am thinking about the same thing.
I am thinking about going to an al executioner lineup
(except for the slate blue for dry). I figure if you have a
ball with a core that you like, and know what it does
then you should stick with it.

My big reason for this came while bowling in a sports league.
I was using my charcoal drill 315 and it was scting past the
breakpoint the fist game. As the lanes broke down I was able
to use it more. I was thinking to myself that if I had another
315 with more surface I would have been able to play that area.

Thanks guys for responding to this topic! I just drilled another one today with a 2 X 4 layout a 1000 polish I used it in league a shot 740 not bad. this layout helps me play further right without the over reaction at the break unlike the taller layouts (4-6"layouts). just a few note on my game my PAP is 4" over and a 1/8 up. I drill all my balls with pin under the fingers due to my tilt. I think I'm OK at changing my revrate, rotation and speed. Jabroni my 1st layout is 1" above my Midline this thing rolls really heavy. I think with some surface (600 the least) i think I could use this on some heavy oil and some longer patterns. The accu-tred cover strong in it's box state.

It is hard for me to conceive of this ball with its higher RG being able to handle a longer oil shot with carrydown.

However I have not drilled mine to see what the solid accutread does to this core(I do have a Hot Rod drilled).

I always find I need some sort of a lower rg ball on a league type shot with carrydown. (Not necessarily on flat oil as the higher rg allows me to point!).

My layout #1 rolls out it's so "midlaney" that it burns out on regular house shots. I remember when some guys was running around with 4 or 5 V2 soilds with differnt layouts and surfaces.

LL, remember drilling the pin under the fingers shortens the core height which lowers the RG. Plus with the 3 1/2 layout and 1 1/4 pitched X-hole has turned this into a pretty heavy rolling ball.

I have basically a label-shift Razor that is great for this task. It rolls up a little quicker in box and doesn't have quite the backend. It is a totally different look that isn't quite as strong. I think this cover does a little better on carrydown than the Accu Tread. Just my opinion.

BrainN, I can not see the Pro-Glide cover working on carry-down. this cover hates oil. If I see the ball start to wiggle at the break I usally scuff the last two flares.

But I can't see this working with something real strong, like a Rule or an Ultimate or a Phenom...too strong for the dry (i think).

nah... I drop to 15# and the hot wire thery was not a success because all the balls had the motion down the lane. the hot wire did not carry well from the inside part of the lane 4,5 and 6th arrow. it just had an arc shape to it. I increased the AX Rotation but still no success.

So many questions!!!

First, who's coming to Livonia MI? And when? That's my stomping grounds! And what's the TNBA?

Second, King, how do you make a Rule go straight?

And Third, (to Next Level), are you saying that going to 15 lb make the Hotwire less effective? Why?

Hey I have a Hot Wire now drilled and on our Brunswick Anvilane surface I'm just not finding this Hot Wire/Hot Rod core to be the winner.

Mostly lower rg are winning despite the lack of midlane oil.
Supercharges, Icons. On the left where there is less oil?

wha, Triple XXX, Fuze Ignitor, sometimes polished Icon2.

I'm sure there are rg lowering ideas but why force it when there are cores that easily are working on this condition. All lower rg.

I got it now... KOTM I'll be Hans-Solo The TNBA is the "Black mans version of the ABC and WIBC" the hot wires were all 16# but I just switched to 15# so they are sitting on the rack plugged and for sale.

Prj300 I think you can make a Rule go dead straight by placing the pin 1 1/2 from the axis. I believe this will stablize the core it will maintain tilt and rotation.
