Need opinions on this!!
« on: June 04, 2004, 01:48:39 PM »
Guys, I just drop all my current arsenal which contained about 10 balls. I would get ready to go to tournaments and be confused on which balls to take . So i got fed up and sold each and everyone of the balls I had, I drilled a spare ball and 4 STORM HOT WIRES.

1) 3.5 x 2.5 layout with 800 surface with 31/32 X-hole 3" below PAP pitched 1.25 away from grip center 3" deep
2) 4.25 x4.25 layout with 1000 surface
3) 5.25 x 3.5 layout with 1000 grit shine X-hole on PAP
4) 6 X 5 layout with 2000 grit shine

Guys let me know what you think of these layouts.

Thanks Next Level! Looks like they have a national tournament coming to Detroit in 2005. If it's in Livonia, I'll bet it's at Clover Lanes.  Kinda large site, built in the 60s, wood lanes, with 32 lanes on each side.

Yes, I urinate on my ball...it doesn't give me better reaction or make my hands tougher.  It just makes me feel better.

Yeah, I believe my rev rate is around 4 and a quarter.

Of course, sure, on a bad day with a broken thumb, it may be 425 ...
(Don't forget - there are witnesses here who saw you throw. )

Next Level has one of the highest rev rates, considering the overall smoothness of his release, that I have seen in a long time, that includes even watching PBA level players for 20+ years.

It is hard for me to conceive of this ball with its higher RG being able to handle a longer oil shot with carrydown.

With a 2x4 Hot Wire, it is easily conceivable, IF you saw Lonce (Next Level) throw with his "Normal" release.

Jazz, thanks big guy. The Hot Wire idea was OK but had it's limitations. I remember about 4 years ago the Ryan Shafer and Doug Kent were tour the easter regionals with 4-5 V2 solids all "cut" different.
