Matching Layout of Old Ball
« on: October 04, 2004, 05:44:53 AM »
I have a customer who previously had a Ti Messenger Pearl (black/gold), drilled axis leverage (pin 3.5 from PAP and cg on axis with larger weight hole).  He has decided on an Element Au79 and wants a similar reaction as to replace the messenger.  I am thinking that the Au79 cover is quite a bit stronger than the super-flex cover of the messsenger.  Strcitly looking at the core dynamics, they appear to have similar RG values, the the au79 core has a slightly higher differential (0.057 vs 0.045).

I am thinking of placing the pin 4.5" from PAP (to counter-act the slightly stronger core/cover) and the mass bias (if drawn in) somewhere between the strong position and the axis position.  Does this sound reasonable, or should I be going in the other direction (maybe 2"-3" pin to PAP placement)?

Thanks,
