negative layouts

with the lanes being so dry and errartic around here i have been experimenting with right handed layouts(im lefty) with some pretty good results. i have a reign of fire just sitting here waiting to be drilled. i was thinking of drilling it with the pin under the middle finger and the CG in the track area. has or would anyone even consider doing this or is this just a completely stupid idea. i have pretty much exhausted all other options and was just thinking outside the box. would be interested to hear other peoples thoughts and experiences. thanks

just keep it legal in terms of static weight maybe placing the cg in tha trac area will need a balance hole and you will roll the ball by the balance hole.... keep it closer to the 1 inch to try to avoid too much side weight look at the layouts here... i tried to make them for lefty but a la ""Righty"" or ""Negative ""

I use one ball drilled ""for lefty"" (im rh) and it works well when lanes are crappy...

It depends how dry it is...
I use my stronger equipment on dry.... that way the ball releases all the energy at the front and it became smooth at the backend(burning too early)... i got it from wes malott  when on tv in the cheetah pattern he was using a resurgence to Tame the breakpoint...
also "dry lane balls or weaker balls" tend to retain energy too much so when they hit a dry spot they came strong as hell

I have a problem with the term "negative" when it comes to layouts. Wouldn't the only negative layout technically be if the pin to pap distance was greater than 6 3/4? Other than that, it's simply a "weaker" layout.

I have drilled myself 6" and 7" pin to PAP balls many times over the past few years to batle scorched heads, bad surface, you name it. Its a viable layout for alot of players wanting to keep their angles tight through the front and still retain energy down lane. Of course you still have to match up the proper ball to the layout and condition. I say feel free to experiment but be cautioned that 6" and 7" pin to PAP require lower tracks to keep from clipping the holes.
