My ball track is high. It's very close to the fingers and thumb. It's not inverted. I have found that pin down drillings on symmetrical balls will cause my track to invert and clip the fingers. That's why I don't use pin down drillings on symmetrical bowling balls.
Now asymmetrical balls don't do this. For some reason asymmetrical balls tend to lower the ball track a small amount which allows me to use a pin down drilling without the track inverting.
Some will say the hand release will cause the track to invert, which may very well be true. However the pin location can also cause the track to invert.
If your not clipping your fingers then don't worry about it. If it clips your fingers then don't drill symmetrical balls with pin down drillings.
