Can the PAP change?
« on: November 19, 2006, 07:34:43 PM »
After the PAP is determined, can its position change if the delivery is changed? If you decide to change your style, lets say your hand position,
will this move the PAP from where it was?

Yes it can. I tend to change wrist positions a lot when im bowling because it is the easiest way for me adjust to lane conditions.

Lets take for instance my High Rev and my White Dot. My high rev i throw normally and my PAP is 4 13/16 over.

Now when i pick up my spare ball, i "Dial Out" my hand. Instead of having my hand locked into pocition with my fingers facing 11 o'clock and my thumb at 5 o'clock, my thumb is at 8 o'clock and my fingers are at 2 o'clock. I keep my wrist locked into that position the entire length of the arm swing. This causes my pap to change from 4 13/16 to 5 over and 1/2 up.

On another note, it might seem that im throwing my spare ball full roller holding the ball that way, but i dont.
