Deep inside line

What layouts have you used to play deep inside lines? I'm looking to drill a Storm Flash Point for this line when the heads begin to go. Thanks.

I think you might want to rethink your strategy.  The Flash Point is more about arc and control, even though it's a pearl.  I think you're going against the FP's nature by trying to use it deep inside.

Yes have a good point. Then what is a good ball for deep inside on broken down lanes? It has to get through burnt heads yet have the recovery to turn the corner and carry those 10 pins????

How are the backends?

I have a Silver Streak Pearl (see profile for info) and while it's a great ball for generating angle from deep inside, it doesn't get through burnt heads easily.  If you don't see a bunch of oil or a lot of carrydown, maybe something like a Power Groove might be better?  I bought a PG for this purpose for an upcoming tournament, but I won't get it drilled until Monday.  It's a go long and snap ball.  The Powerkoil 17 cover and super high RG should be cleaner through the heads than the Sure Grip on the SSP.

Strider,
The backends are typically fresh, just the oil volume is light to start. I liked a Messenger Pearl or even the Ti Pearl in the past. Now, geting a Power Charge and a Flash Point to tackle this condition. Just want to know how you've set up equipment for deep angles and most importantly carry percentage. I can get stuff back from deep, but sometimes it doesn't have anything left at the pins. I think a strong higher RG drilling will work, just looking for ideas that have been tried and tested. On a side note, I like trying new equipment from different manufacturers.

An AMF300 Titan would be a great choice. A little stronger than the power charge suggested( i like that suggestion as well) Something with a lower RG to get that midlane roll to help set up the right angle to the pocket. otherwise picking a ball that doesn't have enough midlane and too much backend, will suffer from ten pin city.

go see your local proshop guy, jabroni is correct your driller should take a look at your game to trully know what is good for you. I hate to drill a ball for a Quality player without every seeing them throw a shot. it feels like i am cheating them.

I would normally do so, but I moved in May and haven't bowled in a year and a half. I don't know how good the proshop is yet. Thanks for the ideas, this is what I'll take when I go in to get the balls drilled. He will see me bowl, badly I might add, and I'll let anyone know how everything turns out.

Flash Point Set up like so: So far tested on a fresh 40ft house wall. Started out playing 20 to 10. Ball made nice hard arc to the pocket. Got a little deeper as the lanes broke down until I was swinging 30 to 13. The ball really carried well here. This tight middle line is usually where I migrate to when bowling later shifts when the rest of the pair is burning up the second arrow. I think this ball will be just what I wanted... Thanks to all...
