balls not finishing pitch problems
« on: September 21, 2006, 02:38:58 PM »
About 4 years ago I had carpal tunnel real bad in my bowling hand. So I had to shorten my span and relax my pitches. After that my carpal tunnel went away and my backend (ball) went with it. Now I have reverse my pitches and my backend (ball) has returned. My question is typically How far can i reverse my pitches before lengthing my span? I really don't want to plug all my stuff so if i can surface plug the finger I think that might help.

I believe Bill Tayler said for every 5/16 of reverse add 1/16 of span for same feel!

It's for every 3/8" pitch change, a 1/16" in span change is necessary to maintain the same feel in stretch. 5/16 - 3/8 close enough..!! =:^D

Forward pitch is fingers toward the thumb reverse is away.

Easy rule forward pitch is making a fist( fingers and thumb toward each other) reverse opening your hand ( fingers and thumb away from each other).

You got your pitches backwards (previous post by All10 is correct), but you sure got the pain part right.  Too much forward pitch in the fingers certainly is painful.  I know that from first hand experience.
