Title: Noob question.
Post by: Deeb on May 28, 2004, 02:50:15 AM
Okay. This probably sounds like a stupid question, but does the thumb hole need filling and redrilling when changing pitches? Or os it just the slug that can be changed?

Its just that I live a fair way from the pro-shop so need to organise getting the ball filled and then trying to get back again within the next week.

Thanks.

Deeb -- Depends on how much of the slug is left in the ball after the hole is drilled.  If it's quite a bit (say a 1 3/8" slug and a 15/16" hole), you can just reslug and drill.  When you make the change, you do not want to drill through the side of the slug.  That would leave a ridge where the slug and ball met.  That ridge would probably over time roll up and could cause thumb irritation.  If this is the case, your driller will either plug the thumb hole or drill out the existing hole and insert a larger diameter slug.  --  JohnP
