Title: not sure what this is?
Post by: apocalyptic_rabbit on February 24, 2011, 02:00:58 PM
Had a young girl come into my shop, her ball tracking in a place I have never seen before.

She was using a Raw Hammer Doom, and the ball did nothing for here....
(the ball is just used here to show the line)
Her Track was  roughly  were the pin to pap line is, Release wise she look very full roller,
I couldnt really find an accuarte PAP.

anyone with thoughts on  how to lay out a ball for this girl??

So her PAP must be about somewhere right above the drawn line.
Try it with the NAP and the inverted Pin, maybe you drill a modified fullroller layout. But with this release and track she wont get much ballmotion anywise.

Layouts are used for 2 reasons.....one to create a certain amount of flare and controlling the flare to avoid the gripping holes. So I would approach this no differently.

Don't look at it in terms of where the gripping holes are, look at it as where her PAP is and controlling the flare.

As the earlier poster stated, to control the flare, so it migrates to the left of the middle finger, use a full roller layout only adjusting the pin height to make sure the flare migrates properly. I would place the pin at 3 o'clock this should suffice the track and avoiding the gripping holes.

But remember with different rolls it can take a few tries to get it right. Think outside the norm

I would recommend a refit. It looks like shes in the ball far too long.
Try the fitting method posted within the BowlingChat.net wiki.
Its worked for a wide variety of bowlers to give them a great fit and get out of the ball clean.

Good luck!
