only storm 4 me -- The PAP coordinates are not measured from the pin, they're measured from the grip center.  If you are using a ball with a pancake core, the ball could be laid out as you describe (actually, any ball could be laid out like that, but it wouldn't make any sense on a ball with a dynamic core).  With the pancake cores, the pin plays no part in the layout, and on some balls is actually on the bottom of the ball from the cg.  --  JohnP

That ball deffinitly looks lefty. Man, I must say, that looks a lot like a full roller layout, but with the pin higher up then normal. How does the ball react? Unless you really ARE a full roller, it looks like your driller really fugged up!

The ball does not move till 35 feet or so then it takes a monster left turn.

how do you track? is it like above the fingers? being thumbless would explain a bit, because w/out a thumb you can track mighty weird.

I think BK was referring to the fact you actually have a slug in the ball, not that you have a thumb hole.  I can't think of why you'd need a slug in there....

Rule say as long as the thumb hole is in my palm it is ok.The slug is in the hole to keep it from cracking, have had a problem with that over the years and that fixed it.

Hi Chris:

For future reference with PBA rules, you can access our Rulebook online at www.pbamembers.com.  17.5E on Balance Specifications and Extra Hole states “If no thumb hole is drilled, the bowling ball must balance within one (1) ounce in any direction.  If a thumb hole is drilled, a portion of the thumb or palm must cover the hole on all deliveries.”

Best regards,

Amanda

ABC Rule is the same.

ABC rule is the same as the PBA,In 16 years i have never had a problem with a ball.Always passed when checked.I use the thumb hole when shooting spares too.
