Drill press specs for home proshop
« on: July 08, 2012, 07:24:45 AM »
Hi guys.  I was wondering if anyone could tell me the specs needed for a drill press for a home proshop.  I have a chance to buy a barely used Porter Cable floor stand drill press with a 5/8" chuck and 4" quill distance.  Its says it can change speeds from 300 to 3,000 rpms.  I've drilled on an AMF Vacujig and Delta bench top drill press so I'm pretty sure this press will work..plus I can get it for $200. Then I'm thinking of getting an Innovative SJ-2000 jig and bits...so I think I can be up and drilling for under $2,000.00.  Let me know.

Thanx guys.

Do you mean the distance from the tip of the drill bit to the drill press table or to the
base of the KMT ball jig  attached to the mill table?
The more I practice,the luckier I get.
