Well we are looking for a better way to get a great fit.
A few different things I've seen and tried most with good effect...
Thumb straight, Magic Carpet, and thumbbillow.
Now there is something different out there that I've just starting messing with and really liked and had a wonderful game with the other day. Not super score but more how beautiful a release I got on every ball.
From Vise...and I understand these have NOT taken off in sales yet at all.
A set of front and back tapes...each one with more gripping power.
About 5 for the front...and 2 for the back.
I got most of them from Buddies...pack has 4 and each pack has 4 of the respective tape in them.
I have not been that fired up about the front tapes but the tackier rear tape insert is intriguing.
Sort of a smooth almost rubber to leather surface. When put in back...it seems to allow you to use the thumbhole looser than usual...I used it with normal moderate snugness in hole...and wasn't going so good. Took two pieces of tape out of front and all of a sudden the ball was off level and like butter with really strong revs for me and not a sound on the lane.
Here is a picture of the product and I'll tell you. I showed to teammates and they were so impressed with the roll I had that they all ordered up a test pack for my reorder coming soon!

I'm real sorry...got there and there is nO picture! Vise sent me a sample board of all styles. Note the backs start with a TA-1X the fronts start with a TA-2X.
Oh here...from Vise
http://www.viseinserts.com/ta_tape.htmTA-1d...my stuff described as foam urethane!
I can't find this stuff anywhere but Buddies...no proshops...nothin! But good from a first try!
In comparison to competition.
1. Thumbbillow....too slippery for me!
2. Regular white tape..similar tackiness to slightly less but no rubbing due to smooth texture.
3. Magic Carpet...similar idea.. Ron's Magic Carpet can cover more shrinkage and swelling however. Magic carpet does a little more rubbing at first but seems to smooth out. It seems to me with Magic carpet that I need to work out the hole bigger to use. This takes up less size of hole.

PS a strange thing. It seemed to really add the most value into my oval holes which I was getting ready to stop using and was switching to round! I do have an oval shaped thumb but had added tape recently to my slightly over size round holes to make them oval.
