Pin location in relation to span.

a few week ago I drill a WMB for my cousin his span is 3 14/16 and 4 so I layed it out with the pin under the RF and the MB stacked (4"PAD X 5 1/2 MB 1 3/4 above the midline) the ball just seem to roll and not transition down the lane. i'm trying to figure out is it the height above being 1 3/4 or that i short the overall shape of the core with his small span being that the thumb was still drilled above the equator of the core and that the cover is extremely aggresive.

My guess is, it needs polish. The ball is probably rolling really soon, b/c of the shorter core.
