RICO reaction w/o RICO drill
« on: February 21, 2007, 11:46:26 AM »
Hi all,
I have a sonic x punched up rico and I LOVE the reaction.  So I decided to see how it would fair on a stronger piece(in this case the inferno remake).  But there is one problem, the pin distance is about 3/4" which isn't horrible, BUT the TW is 3.5 oz.  Now before I get repremanded, these are not the specs I asked for, but I hate to fuss.  My question is how can I layout this ball to give me that RICO roll that I love on the backends?

Thanks all for your help,
BMM

The High TW won't make the ball illegal when I pop the WH?

It seems to me that a weight hole 6 3/4 from the center of grip should neither add nor remove top weight (geometrically speaking).  What you may have to watch is finger/side weights... I'd punch it up, weight it out and then determine how large of a hole you can use to keep within limits.

By punching gripping holes you are automatically removing the top weight so legality won't be an issue.

However, given the short pin, I would bury the middle finger to give you more side and thumb so that you can use a larger weighthole to influence reaction.
