Pin placement and top weight?
« on: October 03, 2003, 12:39:45 AM »
I'm going to be buying a new bowling ball eventually, and was curious about pin placement and top weight.

I'm basically just a stroker, however I'm wanting to become a cranker.

I throw pretty hard and even using old balls can get a pretty good curve.

I've talked to a few people who suggest I get a ball with a 2" pin placement and a 3oz top weight.

A few other friends I have said I should get a ball with a 2" pin placement and a 2.1/2oz top weight.

My question is... does it matter much for my style? And the difference between 3oz and 2.1/2oz, does that matter?

I'm kind of confused and I'm not even really sure if I'm posting this in the right forum?

Anyhow, help would be very appreciated.

Unless you have something very specific & unusual in mind, don't worry too much about it.  Either top weight will work fine with a 2" pin out for most common drill patterns.
