Mass Bias: What truly matters?
« on: February 26, 2006, 01:46:51 AM »
Lately I have been seeing 3 different opinions on what matters when it comes to laying out assymetrical balls. They are:

1.) MB to PAP distance is what matters

2.) Angle between PAP, Pin, and MB is what matters

3.) Mass bias is strongest halfway between thumb and VAL, weakest under thumb, etc.

Which one of these is the "most correct"? The angle between PAP, Pin, and MB seems like the logical difference to me, as the 3rd one is very bowler specific and can result in two completely different results with the same drilling for two bowlers. The first one also makes sense as the MB is just a "secondary pin", but it would also mean that we are limited in what drillings we can do based on pin height, pin-to-PAP distance, etc. as geometry would not allow such things as a 2" x 2" pin-to-PAP and MB-to-PAP distances.

Which one do you feel is correct and why?
