I have been having alot of troubles lately with my ball reaction in 2 ways.
1. anything i have drilled Pin up for length is to angular fro me to control.
2. Anything i have pin down ready so early i cant use without there being plenty of Oil.

So as u can guess i have alot of problems with dry lanes. My question is would the best thing to try is putting my pin like 6in from my pap but with a pin down layout be a good idea or is there any suggestions out there for what i can try.

It's really tough to see w/o watching you throw shots. But in all honesty putting the pin up and down doesn't make THAT much difference. The difference in a pin just above the fingers and just below is not 20 boards of hook.....

I think this could be a case where you're putting the wrong drillings ON the wrong balls....

Well i my suposed lightest hooking ball is a visionay Bronze centar with the pin about 2 inches above my ring finger and i also have a storm Pyro with the pin between and above my fingers with the pin slightly drill through on the ring finger side. The Centar hooks really early and really layed off in the back and hits like crap at times. The Pyro gets between 1/2 and 3/4 of the way down and then makes a sudden left turn which usually goes brookly to picking off the 478

I'm surprised by your question.

I'm certainly NOT specialist enough on drillings to be able to suggest a "special bullet" drilling which wil help you to play better (is anyone?).

If you have a ball that "gets between 1/2 and 3/4 of the way down and then makes a sudden left turn which usually goes brooklyn to picking off the 478" can't you adjust your feet and your target so that when it "makes a sudden left turn" this sudden left turn takes it into the pocket??

I agree with Deadbait. Tell your driller what you're experiencing and ask him to suggest surface changes that will help. Let him adjust the surface, then take it to the lane and see the change in reaction. Continue to adjust until you're satisfied. -- JohnP

Good point....I was referring to the fact that sometimes people get into a trap of only putting weaker, pin up drillings on balls that already go long, and putting strong, pin down drillings on stronger balls.

Your post makes a good point though...probably the best solution.

Its kinda hard with the pyro cause its at 4000 Ab with polish and im playing as far left as i can. If it was a simple fix like adjusting i would not be asking if that drill would work better. The Centar is the same cover prep but it still manages to start reading like half way down and hits like crap cause its rolled out by the time it gets to the end

I think you need something weaker than those balls. The Bronze Centaur is not exactly a weak ball and if that's the weakest ball you have, then there's plenty of room underneath it. That your Pyro is 4000-grit plus polish (what polish?) and you're all the way left only makes me think that's even more true.

A weaker ball will probably go a long way to conserving energy, get you standing back on your lane and not the next one over, and not rolling out so readily. A Hornet, Neptune, or Venus would fit under the Bronze Centaur and the Pyro. If you're a Storm and Visionary guy, the Tropical or Jolt Pearl, or the Blue/Green Centaur would let you move back right a little and still give you plenty of hit.

the reason i was asking about those two was because i can get them redrilled pretty cheep but i aint got the money for a new ball but i do have a spitfire i can get redrilled to

Hey big kid, quit trying to tear the cover off the ball on every shot and work the surface on those balls until you get something you like. The "big backend" reaction I know you are looking for just isn't there.

You may be able to get a few to pop off, but you have no room for error and the volume of oil in the center of the lane makes your line change after every couple shots. How many times have you tossed it right into the channel at 45 ft because you missed outside a couple of boards?

hey i dont do that anymore actually iv cut down from 450 rpm to like 350 and iv added tilt to my bag of tricks these past few weeks So

-. By the way how about that cheta at cherry grove last week and u know it probably gonna be out there at northwest.
