Which Lateral pitch is adequate when drilling a pinky hole for fingertip if MF/RF are pitched the standard 3/8" left/right?

you often times have to go a bit more than a standard 3/8 to avoid touching the ring finger. The Pinky will be shorter so that helps and I hit it with a half inch and just deep enough to keep the pinky from touching the bottom of the hole.
