Title: Pins placement
Post by: BLADE6533 on October 05, 2007, 03:48:51 AM
I was wondering if the lower number of the pins mean the ball will hook early? For example 1'-3' pins means the ball the will hook early or late. Thanks

Are you asking about the pin out of the ball (pin to cg distance) or the PAP to pin distance of the layout?  --  JohnP

Pin out has nothing to do with ball reaction.  However, some layouts are easier to do with specific pin out ranges, especially if the customer doesn't want a balance hole.  For example, 1 - 2" pin outs are easy to lay out with the pin under the fingers, which makes the ball break earlier.  3 - 4" pin outs are easy to lay out with the pin over the fingers, making a later break.  But as long as you're willing to use a balance hole and allow deep drilling of the thumb or finger holes you can use most pin outs for most layouts.  --  JohnP
