Ball/ Drill Suggestion For Specific Shot
« on: December 14, 2006, 12:15:52 PM »
In search of an area on the lanes where I can play with minimal moves for the night so I want to try something else.

I am wanting to try playing an inside line somewhere around 25 to 15.

Looking for suggestions on a ball and layout to use.

I know what I think I want to try, just want to see what you guys think.

Thanks guys!!!

Rudy was playing a sanded HRG deep inside this week.
May be worth trying!

OK guys as soon as the holidays have passed here and my wallet can recover I'll give it a shot.

Thanks to all...and again my apologies to sammy for my atypical behavior.

Doug,

I was going to chime in, but most of what was said covers most of the situation. (I'm also suffering on some dry lanes recently.)

If I were you, I'd watch the balancing act of coverstock strength and how much you kick out the MB (or virtual MB). Jeff's ball speed, as sammy indicated, requires a smaller angle - 30 degrees. Depending on ball speed and axis tilt and rotation angle and actual oil length, your combination may, probably should be different. No Limit is a much stronger cover and core than Ice. Whirlwind sounds like a nice compromise.

Good Luck.

Doug just to chime in a bit, I have a Mercury and a hammer doom for this kind of shot. Both are pin over ring finger with cg stacked below so around a 5x5 drill. Doom is a little stronger on the back and the mercury iss very smooth. The Mercury also has excellent hit. Just my opinion.
