Pitches for lefties

I use MF - 1/4 left and RF - 5/8 right lateral finger pitches for right handers, but am somewhat unsure about what is best for lefties.  MF - 1/4 right and RF - 5/8 left makes sense, but I wanted to see what you other drillers use.  --  JohnP

John
Makes sense to me and that is what my boss does.

Do you know why the standard pitches for a RH are M 1/4 left and R 5/8 right.
To me this makes no sense due to the fact that they are bias to the little finger side, which to me seems as though it puts your hand in a slight bind.
It is my understanding that by biasing the pitches toward the index finger you may gain a small amount of tilt and the ball will sit a bit closer to your palm. These are good things for most, since most have a high track.

Why would you want these standard pitches? Am I missing something?

I personally use 7/16 in both and find it to be more comfortable, with the standard pitches the sides of my fingers get tender after 7-8 games. Both fingers gets sore at the first knuckle little finger side and tip index finger side. This is an indicator of excess right pitch in each finger.

Storm Track -- 1/4L and 5/8R is what I was taught when I went to drilling school.  I came back and drilled a ball for myself with those pitches and found them to be comfortable, so I standardized on that unless someone is having problems or asks me to duplicate an existing ball.  The Bill Taylor book says lateral finger pitches should be at least 3/4 different to avoid the holes coming together at the bottom and to use what is comfortable.  I do know that some drillers use 3/8L and3/8R.  --  JohnP
