Question on the Girard layout
« on: January 11, 2006, 03:08:53 AM »
I have a ball with this layout, & I like it on my THS. It is a particle ball & I polished it & then hit it slightly with the grey scotchbrite. I want to know if anyone has tried slight variations of pin placement or even cg placement using this type layout? Would a slightly different pin location, say, swung a little toward the track or a little more under the thumb change the reaction much? My layout now is according to the way explained to drill it & the track comes close to & actually flairs under the thumb. The ball goes very long & makes a relentless hockeystick move to the pocket & the pin action & carry is phenominal! Just wondering if slight variation of layout, or different coverstock would enable use on diverse conditions? If anyone has experimented or knows how I can find out this info, I would appreciate hearing from you.

My pin is just to the left & almost 2 1/2" below the thumb with the cg directly in the grip center. Have you tried any variation or know of anyone with the pin placed slightly different? I want to experiment, but it could get costly, so trying to find out what to expect before trying. Thanks!
