anyone try to experiment with putting an x hole in a plastic ball, if so, please fill me in on some info, i'm curious to hear whatever one has to say because today i bowled at a house where the breakpoint was at 20 ft and my absolute inferno (weakly drilled) rolled out the last 40 ft of the lane. I used my plasitc spare ball on most of the shots and it had a good line but lacked hitting power (as can be expected with a plastic ball)

Weight hole wouldn't really change that. It might change the reaction, but it probably wouldn't affect carry that much, or at least to a degree where it'd be substantial. With plastic, you have to hit what's considered high for reactives/particles to get good carry.

I use plastic alot (college bowling tornements get really dry). I find that i just can't be left of 17 at the arrows and still hit. might be different with a lane one XXXL but no way im going 2 spend 80 bucks (college discount) on another plastic ball.

An Xhole wont increase hit on the ball, however if you stuck 1 3 3/8ths from your PAP, it may flare a smidgen more. Waste of time if you ask me.
anyone actually put a weight hole(s) in their spare?

I know in the 80's, there were some people that got some interesting looks by use of an x-hole, but it was a different environment then. It was short oil from the get-go, whereas today's fried heads that call for plastic often have carrydown further down the lane that creates a different look than we went for back then.
To put things in perspective, those were still the days where the Black U-Dot and Blue Hammers were beginning to control a lot of the space on ball returns everywhere.
As others have noted, the x-hole is mainly going to change the look...not the hit. A label shift with a pancake block would probably impact hit more than an x-hole.

Kinda... I just usually make one finger hole deeper than the other to affect side weight.
