blue dot

had league tonight, shot 268,254,300 with a blue dot.. sending it 8 to 2. i really see no need for high performance balls on a THS, to me they are only meant for the tour.

Yeah, if you have a ton of hand and a lot of friction outside.  Otherwise, not a chance.  The house shots I bowl on in three different houses always has a pretty high volume of oil, and my plastic ball literally only hooks about three boards.  I have to throw the oil monsters and strong pearls to get a good reaction.

I'm only around 225-250rpms, and if I tried throwing 8 at the arrows to 2 at the breakpoint with my Ice Storm, I'd whiff the head pin and probably barely touch the 3 pin.  Yeah, I guess plastic isn't a good idea for me 99% of the time!

We have a few guys around here who use plastics for strike balls, one of them carrying 230+ right handed and 190+ left handed, the other about 200+ but only left handed.  Both cup their wrists to the extremes and have slower ball speeds.

My brother bowled in a league where the outside and backends were really dry and the middles were flooded. I you used enough ball for oil it overreacted on the ouside and if you kepted it tight was to much on the backend. So he threw his Brunswick Black Diamond 10 to 5 and ave about 224 for the year and a 805 high series.

I can play that line at our house, I just have to keep the speed in check. The pattern is 37' (buffed to 41'), very dry outside the 8th board. I have used both a Crystal Diamond (drilled pin on PAP), and a XXXL (drilled rico). When I am struggling with over/under using strong equipment, I will grab the plastic and go up the outside. It's my "I give up" routine
