I know size and depth is a factor but, that aside, what effect does it have on a ball that is being changed from one hand to another? Does it change how the ball will react, enough to notice from it's original state?

If the balance hole was drilled deep enough to get into the core it might make a slight difference. Probably not enough to worry about, though. You would also want to avoid letting the ball track over the plug. -- JohnP

I have an Alter Ego that was drilled pretty much label. No idea what they were thinking when they decided to drill it with the MB almost 8"-9" away from their apparent PAP.
I got it plugged and the ball still spun up on a Determinator to it's MB like it should.
I don't think that plugging a balance hole is much of a concern. And if the plugs are done right even rolling over them isn't that bad. I just wouldn't want one on my bowtie.
