Need help with a drilling

I want to drill up a ball with a heavy forward roll. I need to know what drill layout & coverstock would work best. One for up the dry outside, & one for up the boards on an oily condition. In both cases I am looking for heavy roll(not skid) without a big backend reaction. Just a gradual heavy forward roll for each condition. I know part of it would be in my release, but I also know the proper layout & cover for this desired reaction will help. Thanks!

I would suggest a pin high 5" to PAP with a large swing of the MB past the VAL(even if the ball is symmetrical, still measure out the MB and swing it as if it were 1 1/2 inches past your VAL).  Pop the large weighthole on your PAP and you'll get a nice smooth reaction with a heavy forward roll on the backend.

Something like this(I hope this comes out right) V-A-L is for the vertical axis line, the O under the L is the weighthole on PAP, C is for CG, and of course the P and MB represent th epin and mass bias respectively

For that type of reaction you are looking for I have chosen in last couple years a particle pearl with a whatever pin is needed to get to your pap.  I have had great results with pin on my axis with cg in center of my grip.  It provides a nice smooth even arc but wouldnt produce very well if you dont have alot of revs. or on a heavy oil condition.  But for the desired reaction if it is moving a little too much then just make cover adjustments that is what i did on my ambush.

Thanks for your input guys. I have a question about the pin axis drilling. I know it cuts down on overall hook & backend, but is this accomplished because of skid, or does it roll mostly? Would a polished pearl with this drill be good playing straight up the dry boards, & would this drill on a dull partical accomplish about the same straight up on oil? If you have answers I appreciate it, & thank you in advance. Remember all I'm looking for is mainly roll down & in without any big movement of the ball.

heh...don't knock it til you try it.  He did say he was playing direct on the dry outside boards and didn't want a big backend reaction.  Why pin axis that's going to roll at 20 feet and keep going and plack at the pocket if there's any oil down lane?  Why not something that's going to get through the mess for 30 feet and give an smooth arc with forward roll on the backend......if 5" is too drastic for you(which it shouldnt be if the ball aready has a built in flare potential of 3-4" or more) try 4" to PAP 2 1/2" above the midline
