I have a ball that has the vise IT in it that needs to be plugged. Is the only way to get it out to drill it out?
-
Or would it be easiest to just find a vise IT slug and have it drilled to fit?
-
If you dont use the IT system then you could drill it out, plug the hole and make it fit you specs. If you drill an IT slug for yourself, you should to drill it in every ball, otherwise it doesnt justify the purchase.

It's easier to make an IT slug and deal with the fingers by plugging or drilling them.i had gotten 3 balls in a trade and had my proshop guy drill the fingers for grips and made me a thumb slug.

Unless the new pitches are the same I'd suggest removing the whole thing.
One other note to consider is when plugging a large mass like that I'd do it 1/2 at a time. If you try to plug it all at once your chances of cracks at the top are much greater, because with that much plug material it gets too hot too quickly.

It just looks like a lot of ball to have to drill out to plug it.

and I do wish my pro shop used vise IT or Switch Grips. He cant justify the purchase since there are so few that would install it.
-
Switch grip starter kit is less than 500 bucks. Much cheaper than Vise. He can call and talk to the lady there Eleanor or Addelien and they may cut him a deal.

You can buy the just the slug for the IT on ebay for about $10 and have your local driller drill the slug, that's what I did.

Where? I cant find one.

go to this ebay link and email premierbowlersproshop and tell the guy your size of slug you need and that you need the slug only. he will invoice you through paypal, I believe mine was an 1 1/4 slug shipped to my door for $10. my driller punched it up for free.
