i just bowled the last few days, here is my view.
first off i started by watching the USBC opening weekend vid on youtube and paying attention to the lane mans comments and where to play as well as what equipment to use.
Total BS, team event i struggled bad.. i had the wrong equipment and was fighting the lanes trying to play the lanes wrong.
I did a lot of research before going back and found awesome info from Mo Pinel as well as others about the USBC 2012 lane conditions.
Mo suggested to use balls with more controlled back ends with a smooth / dull surface.. 4000 no polish.
I brought back some more equipment next day, weaker drilled & small flareing smoother reacting. Mo also said you need to play more direct & dont move around just step down with balls.
He was right, the best line was 10-7 at the arrows and 5-3 at the break point. i made money the 2nd day and lost money the first.
google Mo's interview and you will find loads of info or check out his site and forums he will give you the best info.
hope i helped, with out knowing your style, just bring some weaker stuff and if needed buy something weaker ,play straighter and dont jump around on the lanes moving deep will only work for w few frames and you will be moving again. straighter is greater on this shot..
it did remind me of the old school PBA patteren, it is shorter & less volume then in the past, the heads will go away quick causing the ball to burn up early and die on the back.
good luck, shot more then 180 per game you can win some bracket money..
