12 O'Clock Drilling---Sonic X???
« on: October 22, 2003, 02:00:11 AM »
Got a Sonic X Pearl today used.  Pin above bridge with CG mid grip in middle directly below pin.  Will this layout give me enough pop on the back end when playing deeper 4th arrow?  Or should I plug the whole thing and start over?  If I start over what layout do you suggest?

Using this ball as my drier lane ball as lane condition is broken down playing edge of dirt.  Also on flatter conditions deeper away from OB.

Profile shows my game.

Thanks,
Scott

Reading you bio, I think you have enough hand to make the ball turn the corner playing deep on a dryer conditions.  Since you track further away from the grip, the pin may only be 4 inches from you PAP.  Therefore, you don't have an extreme length drilling.

On a flatter pattern it depends on the amount of oil.  The ball/drilling may or may not work.

Thanks Bob and Wilbert.  I neglected to mention.  That my PAP is 4 7/8"s over and 1/2" up.  Right now if left as is this ball would be about 5 1/2" pin to PAP and about the same or 5 1/2"s from CG to PAP. CG is in middle of grip here.

I had a Crimson Executioner that I had pin bove bridge and CG kicked out 1/2" towards my PAP. NO X hole.  This ball with it's asymetrical core and lower RG made a skip/flip reaction.

Any other thoughts guys?

Thanks again,
Scott

I still think you are ok on drier conditions.  Looking at the specs on the Crimson Executioner, it is a stronger ball.  The Crimson Executioner falls in the category of a Eraser, Messenger, or Silver Streak.
