What would theoretically happen if one were to measure, say, 7" right, left, up, or down from the pin, and THEN do the layout that far away? I've got a few blanks, may try it, but just throwing the idea out there.

Just started drilling, and wanna experiment. Have basic layouts down, but the way I was taught was to ignore the dual-angle stuff, and just measure. I'm gonna self-teach the angle stuff, been reading pinel's stuff.

That's something I thought about, myself. My thinking is, if I can get ahold of core specs, then it's possible to create a layout on the "side" of the ball and make it do a whole new move. It will honestly be a waste of time/ball, but I think it's worth a try. Even if I plug and redrill one out of the closet.

He's been drilling a lot longer than it's been prominent, so he's of the mindset that it's "over-drilling," according to him. I understand the thought, that if a person is a machine and could repeat the shot the exact same way, it would really truly effect every shot the same way in the end, but humans are inconsistent.

I'm not ignoring it myself, I'm working with the way he's taught me so far, and I'm going to implement the dual-angle method slowly, working myself into it. I'm having enough of a time trying to get him to pick up an armadillo for PAP ease.

I was under the impression you were going to drill a ball.  Now you refer to "he"?
