Question on pin distance from pap
« on: June 25, 2005, 03:34:31 AM »

I have an older Brunswick Rhino Pro LE with the pin about 2" from the pap and below and to the right of the ring finger.  This ball works on nearly all conditions as long as there is some oil in the heads.

Also have a Bully and Hyde that were drilled with the pin 4" from the pap and was unhappy with the reactions.  So, had them plugged and redrilled with the pins 3" from the pap and below and to the right of the ring finger.  Now both have a much better finish and work very well on medium to medium heavy conditions.

My question is, since I have had success with this drilling for oiler conditions, would the same drilling work for a pearl ball to be used on light to medium light patterns?

I am a senior bowler with slower speed and not a lot of revs.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

It sounds like you favor a 2-3" pin to pap distance.

In Mario's secrets, he talks about picking your favorite distance,
and making your arsenal from that:

Lots of good reading there.

All of my layouts are variations of leverage, I just move the cg or mb, and use
different ball covers.

You might want to take a super trooper, or jekyl and put a similar layout on it.  The cores are similar to what you are using now(I takew it you like Columbia?

Let me know if tyou have any questions.

Seeing as you like the Rhino pro's as did I (T2, and X)
You might want to look at the executioner from Visionary.
I use the Charcoal for med to oily, and the Crimson for med to dry.

Thanks so much for this information.  My local proshop does not handle that brand but I'll look into it on line.

Thanks again.
