Honestly, you're overthinking it.
After the hole on the axis (assuming you are not inverted), you should have taken down the finger enough to get under an ounce. For your situation, use a 7/8-1" bit and go about 2 1/2" deep. Pitch the hole 1/4 right to keep the bit on the finger side as you drill.
Re-check the weights after the hole on the axis.
If you need to remove some excess finger weight, use a smaller bit (I usually use 13/16" if I drilled for grips), and drill the ring finger deeper.

As for the Vapor vs Red Zone, Vapor should be more angular with similar overall hook. Red Zone will be a touch stronger, especially in the midlane.
