Question about my twisted fury.....
« on: January 10, 2008, 12:38:31 PM »
I got a TF, pretty much the #3 layout, with pin above middle finger, about 5 3/4 away, mb about 1 1/2" right of thumb oob. I wasn't crazy about this drilling, w/the negative pin, but it was suggested I try and if I didn't like it I could get another one. Well, it's going a little too long for me, and that's w/me being a 15 mph thrower rev dominant. I guess I throw in a little heavier THS, synthetic. I'm thinking of turning this one in, and getting another one, mb in same position, but pin maybe above the ring finger instead, about 1 1/2" closer to the pin, about 4 1/2 or 4 1/4" away. I'm hoping it will still retain it's lenght due to its higher rg, yet the close pin will prevent it from sliding past the breakpoint, as my TF does sometimes. Any thoughts?

You tweak the surface on it yet?

No, I like the cleanliness of the ball, and the pro shop said if I didn't like the drilling, I could get another one no charge.  Was thinking of changing the pin placement to prevent it from skidding too long on my house shot.

You might be pleasantly surprised at how much of that cleanness would be retained, even if you scuffed it.  IME the enMotion cover is *extremely* versatile.

And the nice thing about changing the surface is that you can always change it back.

So taking it to 2000 is worth a try?  Sometimes the ball is great, but it does skid past the breakpoint at my house.  So maybe the duller surface will help grab a little sooner, yet the drilling will allow it to still get length?

With the lower differential of the Twisted, the best way to lay out the Twisted is to take your favorite layout and go half an inch closer to your PAP. The only time I would go 5-3/4 is if I was bowling on something with like the cheetah pattern or something with a lot of friction down lane and some over under.
