I've found a router/plug cutter shield made specifically for cutting bowling ball plugs.
Now what I need to know is what kind of router to buy?
I know nothing about this particular tool, because I've never worked with one. I see routers listed as "fixed-base" and "plunge" and don't know what either means. I don't know what size shank (1/4", etc.) I'll need in order to accept a plug-cutting bit. And, I'd like to know if any other router bits will cut plugs aside from a bit specifically made to do the job.
Any tool experts?
