I don't understand what you are asking but you have to use a 1 1/2" drill bit for the turbo brand . The Vise allows for a bit 1/16 larger than what size thumb insert you use. You can use 1 1/8 -1 1/4 - or 1 3/8 thumb slug with the "IT" from VISE!!!

With the Griploc system, I measure back from the cut of the middle finger to the cut of sleeve and drill it from there.  Once you do it on one ball, all you have to do is use this measurement and hit your lines and your good.  I do even put the insert in the sleeve and measure for the fingers anymore.  Hope that helps.

Are you drilling the ball? Map out the span as usual, line up the thumb with your regular size bit and pitches, then take it out and put the outer sleeve bit in the chuck and drill the hole.

 OR

The outer sleeve is 1/16" thick, and the inner sleeve is 1/16" thick = 1/8 total. The slug is 1 1/4". Half of 1 1/4" is 5/8" plus 1/8"= 3/4" from the center of the slug to the outer.

Clear as mud!!??
