Ok I have a guy I just started drilling for. He has a no mercy and a BWP. The guy has a ton of hand and speed BUT he rolls over the finger and thumb hole. I measured his PAP and it comes to 5 1/2 x 1/2 up that seems pretty normal BUT as I stated his rolls over the middle of the finger and thumb.
I watched him for about an hour tonight after league.. when he starts his armswing he flips the ball in his backswing and then extremely comes around the ball like crazy.
We worked on staying behind it, wrist guard and he still thumps the holes.
How does he get away from this??? FULL ROLLER LAYOUT?

Did you measure the PAP from the oil lines or placing tape on the ball? It would be very odd to track that high and have a normal PAP like that.
He needs to clear his thumb faster, and from the inside of the ball. This is something that he has to do with either a slightly shorter span if it's stretched at all, or relaxing his grip pressure (probably more the latter, but both will help).

Fixing with equipment.....
It is my experience that you need to use an aggressive layout (near max leverage) but keep the pin higher to help move the bowtie up.
Hopefully you are able to place the weighthole in a flare increasing position to help move the bowtie and track even further. Brunswick drill sheets are known for more info on flare increasing holes.
Choosing ball specs with higher top weight will also help as will using pins over 2".
Fixing with release....
Most likely he will need to change his release to add more tilt to the ball. See if you can get him to put more of the ball on his index finger all of teh way through his swing and release. Can also change pitches in the grip to help but he will need to get used to them since the new grip will feel different.
Best of luck!!!!
