Question for the ball drillers.
« on: December 31, 2007, 08:31:15 AM »
I had a symmetrical ball with the 315* drilling a while back & was thinking of trying another one. According to Mario the ball should have a marked mass bias & be a pin in with lower top weight. His diagram shows the pin just below finger line & near ring finger. My question is this. If I wanted to place the pin closer to centerline & midline, could I use a 2 to 3 inch pin out & still make this layout work? I don't have to worry about my track clipping the thumb or fingers because I have a lower track. Thanks in advance for your replies.
Oh, it doesn't really say where the mass bias should end up. Does it matter, except for the 315*? Thanks! http://www.bowlingknowledge.com/tips/mario/mario_315degreelayout.htm

Yes you could use a 2-3" pin, But you will have more difficulties with finger and side weight. Its just a matter of how much weight your going to have to remove to make it legal again.

Being a symmetric ball it isn't going to mean much. But, it would end up 6 3/4" from the pin and 315deg from the pap
