Title: Question on layout

Hi there, some newbie questions" pic is only for illustration purpose
(i used "Paint brush" just to move the CG, not the actual layout).

1. How will the ball reaction on medium oil lanes, or other conditions?
2. I know the pin above the fingers will cause the ball to go further down the lanes, what happened if i shift it downwards? i.e. nearer to my fingers (still remain in the center vertical line)

1) cant be answered because it will depend on who is throwing it and where.

2) plugging and moving the pin further down will show very little difference for most bowlers on house conditions.

Surface adjustments will give bigger reaction differences.

When you move the pin down from its position you also move it too close to the finger holes, resulting in a higher possibility of cracking.  It will also void the ball's warranty.  If you want it lower, drill it out by placing it in one of the finger holes.  --  JohnP

another point; you like many bowlers mistakenly equate pin up with length. vertical position of the pin dictates the ball's reaction to friction. like what was said earlier, it depends on who is throwing it and the location of their PAP but very generally higher pin locations make faster responses to friction (more snap) and lower pin locations make slower responses to friction (more arc). regardless of length down the lane.

normally i switch to pin up 2" above fingers to carry the corners ;)
